Corporate History
Megaton's History
Founded in 1991 by our Managing Director, Danny Lim, MEGATON is a logistics private limited company incorporated in Singapore. Mr Lim's vision to create impact and influence in the local logistics and shipping industry inspired the name MEGATON, reminiscent of the explosive force of a 'mega-ton'.
Mr Lim's passion for logistics was sparked in the late 1960s when he began his career at a small shipping firm. He went on to spend 20 years working with a Russian shipping conglomerate, building connections and developing expertise. Seeing the opportunity for a thriving and sustainable logistics business in Singapore's economic growth, Mr Lim founded MEGATON with just one hired staff and a 9 sqm rented work station office.
Drawing on his strong Russian shipping knowledge and past business experiences, Mr Lim re-established Russian contacts to build up MEGATON's expertise in handling the Russian market.
Today, Megaton Shipping boasts a diversified team of staff, associates and partners and a global network of over 60 cities and territories. We vision to be the market leader through global network expansion and improved product lines, promising a better experience to our valued loyal customers.
